Keep connected with what's going on in Boston's Black Community.
Boston Black News is an outgrowth of Boston Praise Radio & TV (BPR&TV) which started in 2010, on the balcony of the Global Ministries Christian Church in Boston, MA. BPR&TV started as an internet radio station. After a number of years of phenomenal growth, in 2014 it added a 24-hour 7-day a week satellite signal along with broadcasting on its AM stations in Boston. Boston Praise Radio & TV along with Boston Black News are non-profit 501-c3 Black-owned and operated non-profit entities, with both having independent Board of Directors.
In 2014, Boston Praise Radio was granted a license by the Federal Communication Commission, FCC to operate its FM radio station. WBPG-LP 102.9 FM Radio. WBPG-LP 102.9 FM Radio, is the only licensed FM station in Boston that is a church-based, Black-owned, social media, Internet, and TV multi-media network in New England.
In the fall of 2020, Pastor Bruce Wall, Founder of BPR&TV, founded Boston Black News. Pastor Wall and his Bruce Wall Broadcasting organization established Boston Black News understanding the importance and crucial role the Black press has played reporting on the challenges and triumphs of Boston's Black community. He created Boston Black News to provide a more nuanced portrait of the lives of the Boston Black Black community because mainstream media has reported predominately negative or otherwise bigoted stories of the Boston Black community.
Today, Boston Black News and its WBPG-LP 102.9 FM Radio partner have over 25-broadcasters from across the city of Boston, and throughout the country, with worldwide broadcasting on our station. Boston Black News is expanding to provide broadcasting 24-hour, 7-days a week. Our audiences are educated, driven, and tech-savvy. With our ever-expanding roster, we are developing news and information programming available for every news and entertainment listener in metro Boston!
Boston Black News is a vital news network that airs local and national news, and live talk radio to Boston's Black community.
